Rediscover the Crystal Coast all year long!
Christmas at Grande Villas in Indian Beach

Looking for an adventurous getaway?  Find The Crystal Coast!

North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks, offer an escape from the ordinary and arrival at the extraordinary. This authentic and undiscovered “coastal experience” features water of crystalline purity bordering sandy, sparkling beaches where visitors learn of an eccentric history steeped in legendary tales of swashbuckling pirate adventures and ghostly encounters. Guests take in a spectacular site, exotic wild horses roaming the same shores for centuries and generations reflecting southern tradition.

The winter months are among the favorites for visitors and locals alike.  Discover yourself on the Crystal Coast while beachcombing for hours without the slightest disturbance or enjoy a world-class meal of fresh local seafood.  This is the perfect time of year to find the elusive whole sand dollar or famous jingle shell on one of our many sunny afternoons.

The Crystal Coast is a lively community year round, and we invite you to join in the fun!

The Festival of Trees is going on through December 13.  Sponsored by the Friends of Hospice of Carteret County for the benefit of those receiving Hospice services, the annual Festival of trees features a display of more than 60 decorated trees, a gala preview party and Santa.  Local choral groups, school groups and musicians entertain throughout the five-day event.

On December 14, join bird enthusiasts at 9:30 am in the Fort Macon parking lot for a bird hike.  Be among the many to enjoy this guided hike to observe coastal birds, Fort Macon State Park, and Atlantic Beach.  At 7pm, join the movie buffs at the Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation department for Friday Free Flicks!  All movies are family oriented, drinks and snacks are $1.

Clawson’s Annual Sing-Along takes place on the Beaufort Boardwalk in front of Clawson’s Restaurant on December 17, the singing goes on from 6-8pm and before or after, enjoy one of the many highly acclaimed restaurants in the downtown Beaufort or Morehead City waterfront area.

At 10am on December 18 meet at Fort Macon for a leisurely hike along the beach to learn about the natural and cultural history of the Crystal Coast.
