Arts & Crafts Coalition Summer Art Show July 5-6 An annual juried show and sale of the Carteret County Arts & Crafts Coalition, is located at Beaufort Historic Site. Headquartered at the downtown Beaufort Docks, is a billfish release-only event with Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin and King Mackerel Gamefish Divisions including a Jr. Angler Division for ages 16 years or younger. In addition to fishing, the world's greatest marine artists are on hand to display their artwork. Some pieces are even available at auction! All the money raised for this event goes to the Boys & Girls Club of Coastal Carolina. For more information please call Cynthia Barber at 252-808-2286. While at the billfish tournament, be sure to stop by the Art & Kids Fair taking place in Beaufort in conjunction with the tournament. Beach Jive After Five Summer Concert July 17 Featuring: Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers- or even dinner to the Western Ocean Regional Access in Emerald Isle. Buddy Pelletier Longboard Memorial Contest July 26-27
Each year this event attracts amateur and professional surfers from the East Coast and various countries, including former and current East Coast, ESA and world champions. The contest is held by the Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation, an organization that sponsors fellowships and renders humanitarian aid to members of the East Coast surfing community. The contest offers beginning surfers the chance to get in the water with some of the best the world has to offer while raising funds to help fellow surfers.
